chi omega

The lambda zeta Chapter

Welcome!

w/ The 2024 chi omega President, Megan Ebert

“Hey! My name is Megan Ebert - I am the President of Chi Omega. I love Chi Omega because it has given me the best college experience I could ever hope for. When I joined, I was given an amazing support system and home-away-from-home that made it so easy to be myself. I’ve been able to meet incredible and inspiring people that motivate me to do better for myself and for others. I’ve made so many amazing memories so far and I can’t wait for the next year!

Our chapter values Friendship, High Standards of Personnel, Sincere Learning and Credible Scholarship, Participation in Campus Activities, Career and Personal Development, and Community Service. While I find to strongly identify with each of these values, the one I find most important is Career Development. As someone who is currently striving to go to medical school, Chi Omega has provided me with amazing resources to help along the way. Not only do the older members provide me with wisdom and advice on a regular basis, but the members who are my age and younger constantly add fun and positive vibes to my life! I could not be luckier.

One of my favorite aspects of my sorority is that it is home to people from all walks of life. We have members representing many different races, socioeconomic backgrounds, academic disciplines, sexual orientations, and gender identities. Despite any differences from each other, one thing all Chi Omega members share is sincerity. I haven't met a single member who wasn’t unconditionally genuine and sincere.

Being a member of Chi Omega has allowed me to serve the community in so many exciting ways. One of my favorite events is Chi O Cravings, an event we do every year to raise money for our philanthropy, the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Not only do we have a fun day raising donations, but we also get to see how big of an impact we can make on a child’s life from doing so. It’s such an honor to take part in a kid’s happiness.

One of the things that I love most about my sisterhood is the great memories I am always making with them in our house. Whether we’re sitting in the living room watching a hilarious movie, or cooking a late night snack, I’m always having a great time with my sisters! At first, I was nervous about living in a house with multiple people, as I had never lived with anyone besides my family members, but I quickly realized I had nothing to be worried about as living in this house has quickly turned into some place I never want to leave! I am so thankful for my sisters and all the memories we have shared together throughout our days in the chapter house.

Chi Omega gives me a sense of purpose in my life that I will always hold dear long after I have graduated college, and I hope many people after me will get to experience this as well. Chi Omega has brought out the best in me and I’m forever grateful for the amazing people in the Lambda Zeta chapter!”

“Our Sisters are committed to Chi Omega’s six purposes. These purposes guide each Chi Omega member and include the following: Friendship, High Standards of Personnel, Sincere Learning and Credible Scholarship, Participation in Campus Activities, Career Development, and Community Service. The message of “personal responsibility” cannot be shared enough. Each member’s choices and actions affect the entire chapter and our national organization. By embracing Chi Omega’s six purposes and placing our values at the root of our words, thoughts, and actions, we are able to truly enjoy one another as Sisters and as friends.

“However magnificent Chi Omega’s purposes, realization of them is determined by the ability of the individual members. Each individual’s resourcefulness is in proportion to the strength of the desire to succeed, guided by intelligence.”

-Mary Love Collins, Chi Omega National President, 1910-1952
